More housing could mean more options and potentially lower rents, but it might also change the character and property values of existing neighborhoods.

Local boutiques that specialize in luxury outerwear could see a drop in sales as shoppers look outside city limits for fur.
gender-neutral city code
This change costs basically nothing, just a bit of administrative time to update the paperwork.
natural gas ban
Expect higher upfront building costs, but potentially lower energy bills down the line.
gender-neutral municipal code update
It won't cost much—mostly just routine document updates and staff time.
labor laws
Businesses might see some increased costs due to compliance, but workers get more stable income.
psychedelics policy
Expect fewer fines and arrests related to these drugs, saving some people money and the city some enforcement costs.
natural gas ban ruling
Developers can keep using natural gas, so no immediate extra costs for them on new builds.
